At Matamata-Piako District Council, we're
looking for an experienced Property and Facilities Advisor to help guide the
planning, management, and future development of our buildings, community
facilities, and property assets.
This is an opportunity to move beyond
day-to-day facilities management and play a key role in strategic planning,
asset management, and investment decisions that directly impact our
communities.
About the Role
You'll provide practical technical and
strategic advice on Council-owned buildings and facilities, contribute to asset
management and renewal planning, and support the development of policies,
strategies, service levels, maintenance plans and long-term planning documents.
You'll also help with operational and capital forecasting, and work across
Council to ensure our facilities remain fit for purpose, compliant, accessible and
aligned with community needs.
About You
We're looking for a professional with
experience in property, facilities, asset management, infrastructure, or a
related field who can combine technical expertise with strategic thinking.
You will bring:
- Experience
managing or advising on property and facilities portfolios.
- Strong
understanding of asset management and lifecycle planning.
- Knowledge
of relevant legislation and regulatory requirements.
- Excellent
stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
- The
ability to provide practical, evidence-based advice and recommendations.
- Clear
report writing and presentation skills, with the ability to present sound
advice to a range of audiences.
- A
relevant qualification or equivalent experience, and a full New Zealand Driver
Licence.
