The Waimakariri District Council operates four Aquatic Facilities in the North Canterbury region including Dudley Park Aquatic Centre in Rangiora, Kaiapoi Aquatic Centre, and seasonal sites Oxford Community Aquatic Centre and Waikuku Beach paddling pool.

From these facilities, we provide a high-level customer experience to a wide range of users ensuring that each facility is being utilised to its full potential.  We’re a respectful, progressive team committed to delivering real value for our customers.

To assist with this, the Council is currently seeking applications for the role of Kaiapoi Aquatic Centre Team Leader.  We’re looking for a motivated, organised and people-focused leader who thrives on variety and community interaction.

In this role you will:

• Lead and support operational staff at Kaiapoi Aquatic Centre
• Manage rostering, administration and day to day operations
• Coach and develop team members to grow capability and career pathways
• Foster a culture of safety and service excellence and community engagement

Our ideal applicant will have:

• Experience in customer facing or community focused environments
• Strong leadership or team coordination skills
• A passion for developing people and building engagement
• Industry experience and knowledge of Learn to Swim, Lifeguard and Health and Safety would be advantageous but is not essential
• A National Pool Lifeguard Certificate and Swim Education Award (or be capable of obtaining these)
