Water Revenue Assistant (Accounts Receivable)
Do you have an affinity for numbers? Do people seek you out to proof their work because of your attention to detail? Are you the cool, calm and collected head when there's conflict, tight deadlines, or really difficult conundrums to resolve? If you answered "yes", then keep reading!
This is an exciting opportunity to join our Revenue Team as a Water Revenue Assistant on a fixed-term basis through to 2026, as we prepare for the transition of water billing services to Waikato Waters Ltd.
Whilst this role reports to the Senior Water Revenue Officer, you'll also be liaising closely with the Water Waters Ltd. Services team, contractors and other stakeholders to ensure we're factoring in all aspects of water billing, maintaining the integrity of our water billing system, and delivering a quality service to our customers.
As one of our dedicated Water Revenue Assistants, you will be the first point of contact for all water meter billing enquiries. You'll help ensure our water billing processes run smoothly and accurately, from receiving meter reads through to issuing customer invoices.
We're looking for someone who:
- handles customer enquiries with professionalism, patience and a customer-first approach
- actively seeks out knowledge to answer all those curly questions, working alongside both the Water Services and Revenue teams
- has experience administering a database and working with accurate data
- has previous experience in an accounts, revenue or administration role, or can demonstrate a high level of numerical accuracy
- has excellent attention to detail and isn't fazed by repetitive processes or tight deadlines
- is confident using computer systems and Microsoft Office
- can build positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- is comfortable investigating anomalies, resolving queries and knowing when to escalate an issue
- and last, but certainly not least, has a great sense of humour and thrives on working in a team environment.
You'll be involved in a range of water revenue activities, including maintaining customer and property information, administering meter reading processes, checking high and low usage, preparing billing files, assisting with Direct Debits and receipting, following up outstanding queries, and working with contractors and Water Services to resolve issues.
There will also be opportunities to contribute to projects, software testing and other Revenue Team initiatives as required.
Don't worry if you don't know the ins and outs of water billing already - training will be provided. What we're really looking for is someone with the right attitude, a willingness to learn, a good head for numbers and a genuine commitment to providing great customer service.
As a member of the Revenue Team, you will have the support, guidance and camaraderie of a highly engaged and high-performing team who pride themselves on quality work, quality service provision, and quality outcomes .... and who have some quality fun along the way!
If you want to be part of our team, enjoy working with numbers and people, and align with our vision of 'Waipā Home of Champions - Building Connected Communities', then we would love to hear from you.
Applications close: Wednesday 23 September at 10:00pm.
