Mō tēnei tūranga mahi | About this role
As our Team Leader Systems & Solutions, you'll be responsible for managing the delivery of fit-for-purpose systems and services in line with our Digital Services Strategic Plan. You'll oversee the design, release, and operation of Council's enterprise systems and applications, ensuring they are intuitive, agile, and deliver a great experience for both staff and the community.
A key part of this role is acting as a trusted business partner across the organisation — listening to stakeholders, providing expert advice, and ensuring digital services are aligned to real business needs. You'll also lead and mentor a talented team of Solutions Systems Analysts and Business Intelligence Analysts, helping them to grow and succeed.
What you'll do
- Lead the delivery of Council's enterprise systems and digital services in line with strategic goals.
- Partner with managers, staff, and stakeholders to ensure digital solutions are customer-focused and effective.
- Manage the rollout of new systems, changes, and enhancements with strong quality controls.
- Provide clear direction to external vendors and service providers.
- Lead, coach, and mentor your team to ensure a high-performing, customer-focused culture.
- Develop policies, procedures, and practices to support consistent, efficient digital service delivery.

You'll be a proactive, collaborative leader who brings both technical expertise and strong people skills. You'll thrive on building trusted relationships, solving problems, and ensuring digital services deliver real value to staff and the community.
What you'll bring
- A relevant IT degree and certification in business analysis techniques.
- 5+ years' experience in enterprise-level digital services management.
- Proven team leadership and coaching skills.
- Experience in ITIL service management, project and budget management, and contract management.
- Advanced digital and technical knowledge with the ability to apply best-practice frameworks.
- Excellent communication, relationship-building, and time management skills.
- An understanding of the Treaty of Waitangi and its implications for Council.
