We're seeking an enthusiastic and creative Social Media Marketing Officer to join our award-winning team.

The opportunity - Te āheinga

This role is part of the NPDC Communications team and is responsible for content creation and managing and growing our social media presence, ensuring our channels (Hello NP, TSB Festival of Lights, Puke Ariki and other channels as part of the Digital Strategy) engage and connect with our community.

The role is critical in maintaining our various brand voices, fostering engagement and responding to public interactions in a timely and professional manner.

The role also provides campaign support across other business units (TSB Festival of Lights and other major events, Stadium Taranaki, TSB Stadium, TSB Showplace, Bowl of Brooklands, Puke Ariki, Govett-Brewster Art Gallery/Len Lye Centre, Brooklands Zoo, Todd Energy Aquatic Centre and Community Pools) along with other marketing and communications work as required.

Key responsibilities - Ngā haepapa matua

Core responsibilities will include the following:

  • Content creation (including photography, videography and copywriting) for our social media platforms and other channels
  • Developing and implementing social media plans that work with algorithms and support campaign objectives
  • Analysing and reporting on campaigns, knowing how to measure success and optimise content for engagement
  • Attending events to generate and capture content
  • Providing expert social media advice to business units
  • Working closely alongside and building strong relationships with the Communications Team and NPDC business units
  • Building positive relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders
  • Other marketing and communication duties as required

Essential skills and experience - Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako:

  • Tertiary qualification in a relevant marketing communications discipline
  • Three years or more experience in a relevant marketing communications role
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with proven ability to translate copy into compelling content for various channels while maintaining brand voice
  • Demonstrated recent experience of social media channel management and content creation
  • Strong understanding of social media platforms and trends and how social media fits into a wider marketing plan
  • Understanding of EDM platforms (Mailchimp or similar), website management, and digital advertising (Meta and Google) would be an advantage

You can expect to start in this permanent, full-time role with a starting salary of between $75,675 - $81,560.
