At Waimakariri District Council, we’re proud to support this growth by delivering high-quality services and planning for a thriving future. We are seeking a strategic and experienced Senior Road Maintenance Advisor to oversee the operational and renewals functions of our roading infrastructure.

This role plays a key part in ensuring our roads are maintained to the highest standards, in line with contractual and compliance requirements, and aligned with Council’s community outcomes.

 

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide strategic oversight of road maintenance and renewals, with a focus on bridges, pavement rehabilitation, footpaths, delineation, and Unformed Legal Roads.

• Lead the development of renewals programmes to ensure service levels are met.

• Drive the investigation, coordination, and implementation of rural seal extensions.

• Collaborate closely with the Roading Operations Team Leader to ensure safe, efficient, and best-practice delivery of roading services.

• Offer expert advice and thought leadership across the Roading & Transport team, Project Delivery Unit, and wider Council.

 About You:

You’ll bring deep expertise in road maintenance, operations, and renewals, along with a strategic mindset and strong leadership capabilities. Your ability to work collaboratively and influence across teams will be key to your success in this role.
