The opportunity - Te āheinga

We're looking for an experienced Senior Project Manager to play a key role in NPDC's transformational ERP Replacement Project. This is a fixed-term position for two years, offering the chance to lead significant organisational change and deliver meaningful impact across our business.

In this role, you'll be responsible for the successful delivery of the Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) and Financial workstreams within NPDC's implementation of TechnologyOne CiA.

You'll work at the heart of a major organisational improvement initiative, partnering closely with business leaders, technical specialists and external vendors to ensure these workstreams are delivered on time, within scope and to a high standard.

Reporting to the ERP Programme Manager, you'll provide strong project leadership, clear communication and effective coordination across multiple teams. You'll champion best practice project management, manage risks and dependencies and ensure each workstream aligns to the overall programme roadmap and strategic outcomes.

Key responsibilities - Ngā haepapa matua

  • Lead the implementation of TechnologyOne CiA Enterprise Asset Management and Financials modules
  • Act as Project Manager within Council's P3M Framework, ensuring alignment with vendor methodologies
  • Drive delivery of ERP project outcomes as a key member of the project leadership team
  • Represent the Programme Manager in governance, stakeholder and vendor forums
  • Provide leadership to asset management and financial workstreams, fostering a high-performing, collaborative team environment
  • Oversee stakeholder engagement to ensure requirements are understood, design principles followed and expectations managed
  • Partner with Change Leads to support effective change, communication and training across impacted business units
  • Manage direct reports and HR responsibilities, ensuring compliance with legislative and good-employer obligations

Essential skills and experience - Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako

  • Relevant project management professional accreditation (PMI) or working towards, or a relevant tertiary qualification
  • Minimum five years' experience as a project manager managing medium to large projects
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, develop and implement strategic and tactical projects
  • Knowledge of business transformation preferably in a large and complex organisational setting, including process, systems and organisational change
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills and relationship management
  • Experience and/or appreciation of local government business drivers and statutory requirements advantageous
  • Proven track record of building positive relationships with customers and stakeholders

You can expect to start in this two-year fixed-term, full-time role with a salary of between $120,786 - $130,180
