Senior Planner - Policy

Our Strategy, Planning and Policy team is at the heart of shaping the beautiful city of Upper Hutt. We have an ambitious work programme covering growth areas, mixed use development areas, natural environment, natural hazards, landscapes and heritage for our rolling district plan review and giving effect to national and regional direction. 

 

We are looking for a Senior Planner who is comfortable leading multiple district plan changes, engaging the community, influencing central government policy, supporting broader urban transformation strategy and sharing their experience with the team and wider Council staff. Current and future workstreams include residential intensification, commercial and other business uses, implementing National Policy Statements, Central Government policy, strategic urban planning policy and the Regional Growth Framework.

A relevant tertiary qualification in planning/resource management is preferable, as well as relevant experience and a passion for planning.
