Senior People and Culture Advisor

There’s never been a more exciting time to join our progressive, dynamic organisation. Our region is expanding at an extraordinary rate and Horowhenua District Council is driving that growth. We are taking our district from Good to Great, and we need more Great people to join our team…

We are looking to appoint a Senior People and Culture Advisor to join our small and friendly team. Because we are a small team, you will need to be adept at undertaking multiple tasks and flexible enough to remain approachable and switch focus when the pressure is on.

The successful person will need to be a credible HR practitioner who can build trusting relationships across Council and who can deliver best practice advice and guidance on a range of generalist HR matters. This is a busy role where the work is varied and no day will be the same, so it is critical that you thrive on challenges and have a proactive approach to resolving them.

You will be responsible for guiding our people through all areas of HR from recruitment, employment relations, performance, development, remuneration and engagement so ideally you will have a human resources or related qualification and at least 3 year’s experience operating at a senior level.

This is a permanent full time position and while the core hours of work are Monday-Friday 8am-5pm, we operate an environment where flexible working is well embedded.  You will be joining a supportive team who enjoy working together and one where a good sense of humour is essential.

If you are looking for a fast paced role with variety, challenge and the opportunity to  use your experience and knowledge to benefit the Horowhenua community then please apply today.
