Senior Land Development Engineer

Our Engineering Services team is an in-house consultancy whose focus is to design solutions for engineering projects that benefit our ratepayers, residents and visitors - put simply when it comes to Engineering Services, it is a one-stop-shop!
We are seeking a Senior Land Development Engineer to provide leadership, technical expertise and advice on engineering aspects of subdivisions and developments undertaken by Council and third parties.
The hours of work for this position are 8:00am - 5:00pm Monday - Friday.
Key responsibilities for this role include:
- Acting as Council's in-house subject matter expert on engineering requirements for the subdivision of land and land use changes.
- Ensuring developments are in accordance with Council's requirements, engineering standards and other relevant regulatory plans.
- Supervising, coaching and motivating team members while encouraging a workplace culture of shared ideas, problem solving and mutual support.
- Proactively contributing to the 30 year Infrastructure Strategy, Council's strategic plans and asset and activity management plans by providing sound technical engineering advice.
What you will bring:
- Bachelor of Engineering (Civil).
- Minimum of 8 years demonstrated experience in development engineering.
- Financial understanding of accounting for infrastructure assets.
- Knowledge of the Resource Management Act 1991 consent processes and of New Zealand. local government legislation, practices and standards.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Full NZ Driver's Licence.
