We are looking for a Senior HR Business Partner and two HR Business Partners to join our supportive and passionate HR Services team here at Wellington City Council.
Our People and Culture group work in partnership across Council to create a high performing, safe, happy and healthy workplace for all, enabling our people to deliver great services to our communities. We have a busy year ahead so we are growing our HR Business Partner team to help us achieve on our extensive workplan, focussed on improving our customers experience and supporting our teams deliver great services to our city.
Senior HR Business Partner
You will work in true partnership with our senior leaders to provide strategic and tailored people centric advice across a range of functions including workforce planning, performance and change management, industrial and employment relations, and remuneration. You will truly own this role, be out and about at our operational sites across Wellington and will quickly become known as someone who proactively builds strong relationships and whose advice is deemed invaluable within a diverse portfolio of leaders and staff. You will take an active role in mentoring and coaching one of our HRBP's and will work with the Manager HR Services on delivering on their development plan. Working as part of a collaborative team you will also at times take the lead on assigned projects from our workplan. To deliver these you will need to engage with the broader People and Culture team and the business. We are looking for Senior HR practitioners with extensive and in-depth experience in a wide range of HR generalist activities coupled with experience working in a partnership approach with unions. What we would love to see is your ability to coach and mentor, and be flexible, adaptable and agile in your practice to provide the best service for our customers, which ultimately impacts our communities and ratepayers.
HR Business Partner
You will partner with the leaders you support to provide a range of high quality generalist HR services including advice and coaching through disciplinary and performance issues, guidance on HR policies and procedures, on-boarding and off boarding of staff. You will be someone who can hit the ground running in an environment that is fast paced and constantly changing. With your developing skills you will feel confident interacting at all levels and be pragmatic and driven in your approach. To thrive in this role, you'll have started your HR career and will have experience working across both operational and office based workforces. We are looking for someone who is smart, credible and action oriented willing to question the status quo and can operate confidently in a complex environment. To help you succeed you will be provided with regular coaching from one of our Senior HR Business Partners as well as guidance from the Manager HR Services
