Te āheinga - The opportunity
Are you a passionate and experienced Arborist looking for an exciting new challenge? New Plymouth District Council is seeking a dedicated Senior Arborist to join our team. If you are level four qualified, physically fit, have a fantastic attitude, and possess a class two licence with substantial experience, we want to hear from you!
Tino takohanga - Key responsibilities:
- Lead and execute arboricultural tasks with a high level of expertise and safety
- Provide training and mentorship to the junior team, fostering their growth and development
- Demonstrate a willingness to develop and enhance your own leadership skills
- Ensure all work complies with council policies and industry standards
- Collaborate with other council departments to support community and environmental initiatives
Ngā tino pūkenga me ngā wheako - Essential skills and experience:
- Level four qualification in Arboriculture
- Class two driver's licence with extensive experience in arborist work
- Excellent physical fitness and ability to perform demanding tasks
- Strong commitment to safety, with a proactive and positive attitude
- Proven ability to work within a team and guide less experienced members
- Desire to develop leadership capabilities and take on additional responsibilities
