Te āheinga - The opportunity
Are you passionate about creating and maintaining beautiful, sustainable green spaces? Do you have extensive experience in horticulture and arboriculture? The New Plymouth District Council's Parks and Open Spaces team is looking for a dedicated Senior Horticulturist and Arboriculturist to lead and carry out vital work across our diverse range of parks, gardens, and open spaces.
Tino takohanga - Key responsibilities:
- To deliver of horticulture and arboricultural services to customers as determined by the Arboriculture Specialist and in accordance with Industry standards, procedures, and practices
- To train and actively manage staff
- Actively ensure that good employer obligations and legislative requirements are fulfilled, particularly in relation to all key relevant legislation
Ngā tino pūkenga me ngā wheako - Essential skills and experience:
- Relevant national qualification in Arboriculture
- Drivers' Licence for relevant vehicle classes
- Computer literacy
- Field experience in the arboriculture and horticulture industry
- Demonstrated competency in the coordination of staff and resources
- Familiarity with industry standards, procedures and practices
