Senior Catchment Advisor (Policy Implementation)
Bring your passion for working with catchment communities to this varied full-time role based with the Catchments Policy Implementation team in Napier. You will connect communities to catchment issues, and develop initiatives that support engagement, solutions and progress to better catchment outcomes.
You will have a passion for rural environments and communities and take job satisfaction from working with people to achieve long term improvements in the management of land and the health of water in our catchments. This role will see you building rapport and working with the community and with partners in other organisations to support initiation and growth of catchment collectives to becoming self-sustaining.
You will be a motivated and enthusiastic person who can hit the ground running in this dynamic role. You will be solution focussed, familiar with the primary sector and have an understanding of natural resource management. You will have excellent knowledge of the pathways of nutrient and contaminant loss from land to water, alongside farming and growing systems, and knowledge of rural issues.
You will be a positive and valued contributor to our team.
To be successful you will need:
- Preferably five years post qualification experience in sustainable land management or similar.
- Ability with facilitation and development of groups
- Strong observational and analytical skills.
- Competency (and ideally certification) with one or more modes of on-farm transport (i.e. quad bike, side by side, motorbike).
- Ability or interest in the use of mapping software to assist with recording and presenting catchment work and issues.
- Have a clean and full driver’s licence.
The salary range for this role depends on the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate.
