This role focuses on providing secretariat and executive support to local government regional forums in Canterbury. The Regional Forums Secretariat supports the Mayors, Chief Executives and senior staff across Canterbury councils to set direction and implement the Mayoral Forum’s Plan for Canterbury and other collaborative work programmes. In this role you will engage directly with Mayors and CEs, advising on key regional matters and supporting their engagement and advocacy with Ministers and central government agencies.

 

We want to hear from you if you:

 

  • Bring a strong relationship focus to our work with Ngāi Tahu, government agencies and other stakeholders
  • Can identify and advise on current and future issues related to the sustainable development of Canterbury
  • Can focus both on strategic issues and the detail of ensuring meetings run well
  • Have strong written skills and experience in providing advice in plain English.

The secretariat is hosted and managed by the Canterbury Regional Council (Environment Canterbury).
