Roading Manager
About the Role
Stratford District Council is recruiting for a Roading Manger to join the team.
In this role, you will lead the stewardship of our district's roading network and play a key part in shaping how people live, work and move throughout the heart of Taranaki. You will guide the planning, maintenance and improvement of our transport infrastructure, ensuring safe and reliable routes that support our growing community. This is an opportunity to take ownership of a meaningful portfolio, influence long term strategy, and enhance essential services across a district known for its natural beauty and strong sense of community.
This position is full time (40 hours per week), based at the Stratford District Council, Miranda Street, Stratford. The salary range for this position is $127,000 to $142,000 per annum, with the starting rate based on the skills and experience of the successful candidate.

About You
You will have strong experience in roading, civil infrastructure or a related field, supported by a relevant qualification. You will bring proven experience in road maintenance, construction or sealing contract management, along with a solid understanding of asset management processes and the ability to operate confidently within a local government environment.
You have the leadership capability to guide staff, manage contractors and maintain positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders. You are organised, a clear communicator and comfortable preparing reports, advising decision makers and managing competing priorities. You will enjoy the challenge of managing budgets and programmes, guiding a dedicated team and delivering outcomes that directly benefit the Stratford District and its place in the wider Taranaki region.
