Records Management Support Officer

Our Records Management Support Officer role has a focus on ensuring Council's records and information needs are met. This entails working with teams across the organisation to ensure their information is stored within Council systems appropriately and it is accessible to those authorised and needing it.
This is achieved with an understanding and application of, relevant legislation such as the Public Records Act, Local Government Official Information and Meetings Act and the Privacy Act, and being able to communicate these requirements positively, across all levels of our organisation.
The role calls for somebody who easily engages with others either one-on-one or, within a collaborative team environment. Your natural attributes should be;

- ability to work with and help teams meet their information and records needs
Responsibilities include:
- Develop/maintain good-practice processes related to physical and digital information management
- Support Council staff in their effective use of record systems
- Retrieval and management of information is effective, accurate and efficient
- Organisation Correspondence management
- Supporting organisational mail out needs
- Digitisation and storing of physical information and records
- Supporting departments with their retention and disposal requirements for information and records
- Reporting on the use of and adherence to Council's Taxonomy
We are looking for someone who:
- Has a passion for record keeping
- Familiarity of working within an O365 environment
- Knowledge/familiarity working within Microsoft SharePoint
- Experience working within information, records and archives management systems
- Any experience in Information Management for Local Authorities
