Central Otago District Council has a rare opportunity for a Rates Officer to join our Finance Team to maintain Council’s property rating system on a full-time basis.
Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will be responsible for striking the annual rates on a quarterly basis and invoicing and communicating directly with the ratepayers of Central Otago. There is a high level of administration behind the role including maintaining the rating database, accurately implementing the council rating resolutions and operating within the appropriate rating legislation. All this while delivering an excellent customer service.

As the successful candidate you will have: * A high level of administration and financial experience * A strong focus on customer service with a mature attitude * The ability to communicate confidently by phone, email and in person * Exceptional analytical skills which can be applied in a variety of situations. * Sound numeracy skills with a commitment to accuracy
