Quality Assurance Advisor - Building
Are you passionate about quality, continuous improvement, and making a real difference in regulatory services?
Due to an internal promotion, we are re looking for an experienced Quality Assurance Advisor - Building to lead and enhance the quality systems that support our Building Consent Authority (BCA)
Based in our Thames office, you'll be the driving force behind our quality assurance framework, ensuring our systems, processes, and practices remain effective, compliant, and aligned with legislative and accreditation requirements. Your expertise will help us maintain the high standards expected of an accredited BCA while fostering a culture of continuous improvement across the team.
You’ll lead quality assurance activities across the Building Unit, including internal audits, accreditation activities, reporting, procedural reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives. You'll identify opportunities to strengthen our systems, provide practical guidance to staff, and help build consistency and capability across the Building Unit.
Your work will support consistent quality practices and drive improvements that enhance efficiency, compliance, and customer outcomes.
What you'll bring:
- Experience in quality assurance, auditing, process improvement, or quality management systems.
- The ability to analyse complex information and make clear practical recommendations for improvement.
- Excellent administration, document control, reporting, and information management skills.
- Strong organisational and time management abilities, with attention to detail.
- Confidence using technology and systems to support effective planning, reporting, and service delivery.
- A collaborative and solution-focused approach to problem solving.
- The ability to build trusted relationships, influence stakeholders, and coach others to achieve positive outcomes
Desirable experience
- Knowledge of building control processes.
- An understanding of the New Zealand Building Act, Building Code, Building Consent Authority accreditation requirements, and associated legislation.
- Experience working within local government or a regulatory environment.
