About the roles:
At Selwyn District Council, strong performance and transparent governance matter. We're strengthening our Performance Delivery Team with two roles that will play a critical part in how we plan, report and invest for the future.
Our Performance Delivery Team ensures that Council develops its Long-Term Plan, Annual Plans, and Annual Reports within statutory timeframes and in line with legislative requirements. The team also ensures that Council regularly receives reports on its performance in delivering agreed levels of service and capital programme projects.
The two opportunities:
Project Manager - Corporate Plans & Reports
Lead the preparation and delivery of Selwyn Council's Long-Term Plan, Annual Plans, and Annual Reports. You'll guide these complex, high-profile processes from consultation through to adoption, ensuring statutory standards are met while collaborating with senior leaders, elected members, Audit NZ and our community. It's a role where planning expertise meets people skills, and your work directly shapes the future of our district.

Help tell the story of how Council is delivering for our community. You'll design and implement our corporate performance reporting framework, ensuring decision-makers have clear, accurate insights into Levels of Service, capital programme delivery, and key performance measures. Working closely with Finance and leaders across Council, you'll turn complex information into insights that influence big decisions with the Executive Leadership Team, Council, and beyond.
About you:
You're someone who thrives on clarity, structure and delivering high-quality outcomes that stand up to scrutiny. Whether leading the development of statutory plans and reports, or designing performance frameworks that keep Council accountable, you combine technical expertise with strong people skills.
We're looking for people who can demonstrate:
- Experience working as an analyst or in an analytical role focused on performance reporting, business planning, or project delivery.
- Relevant qualifications in project management (PRINCE2, PMP) or performance reporting frameworks will be highly valued.
- The ability to manage complex projects and deliver outcomes within statutory timeframes.
- Strong relationship-building skills, with the confidence to engage senior leaders, elected members, and external partners.
- Excellent communication skills - translating complex information into clear, meaningful insights for decision-makers and the community.
- A collaborative, pragmatic style, with the flexibility to navigate ambiguity and adapt to changing needs.
What we can offer:
- Great work-life balance with flexibility
- Career coaching and development
- Life insurance
- Wellbeing and volunteer leave
- Three days paid leave between Christmas and New Year
- Two weeks paid Partners Leave
- Sick leave from day one
