About the role
As a Project Leader: Urban Planning you'll be leading the planning processes to establish the planning frameworks to support the successful urbanisation of some of our key urban growth areas. This will involve working closely with tangata whenua, landowners, developers, sub-regional planning partners and the community, to enable the 'Connected Centres' vision established by the Urban Form & Transport Initiative by the SmartGrowth partnership.

- Ensuring delivery of urban planning and growth management projects in a timely and professional manner, within approved budgets.
- Leading the city's key urban growth area planning processes to support their structure planning and re-zoning to enable urban development.
- Internal and external stakeholder relationships and partnerships, with community focus are developed and maintained.
What you'll need to succeed
To succeed in this role, you'll bring your extensive experience in urban growth, delivery of strategic policy advice, planning public policy and resource management skills. Preferably alongside a degree in planning, resource management, urban development, project management or a directly relevant field.
