At Stratford District Council, we're passionate about making a positive difference for our community. We're looking for a motivated and capable Project Engineer - 3 Waters to join our team.

About the Role

In this role, you'll be responsible for:

  • Planning and delivering 3 Waters infrastructure projects that support essential services across the Stratford District
  • Managing projects from scoping and procurement through to construction, stakeholder engagement, and reporting
  • Ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and in line with Council's project management and procurement frameworks

You'll also contribute to asset management planning and support the delivery of special projects that contribute to the ongoing development of high quality water services for the Stratford District.

This is a permanent full-time position working 40 hours per week, based at Stratford District Council, Miranda Street, Stratford.

The salary range for this role is $96,000 to $107,000 per annum, with the starting salary determined by the skills, experience, and qualifications of the successful candidate.

What You'll Bring

  • A relevant tertiary qualification in Engineering or a related discipline
  • Experience in project delivery, 3 Waters, asset management, or local government infrastructure projects
  • Strong project management, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills
  • You'll be organised, proactive, and comfortable managing multiple priorities while maintaining a strong focus on quality, compliance, and customer service.
  • Experience working with contractors, consultants, Iwi, and community stakeholders will be highly regarded.

You'll also value working collaboratively, providing excellent service, and contributing positively to your team and community.
