As the Project Coordinator Lead, you will mentor and develop project coordinators and administrators, optimise resource allocation, and uplift the consistency and quality of our project controls.

You will also take on senior-level coordination for complex, high-priority projects - helping ensure robust planning, governance, reporting and engagement are in place from initiation to completion.

If you enjoy improving processes, building capability and championing best-practice project management standards, this is an opportunity to make a tangible impact on NPDC’s project maturity and community outcomes.

  • Monitor team capacity and utilisation, reforecast resourcing needs, and escalate constraints early.
  • Drive continuous improvement by standardising and enhancing coordination processes, templates and tools (Flowingly, TechOne, SharePoint).
  • Oversee contractor panel administration and contract management within the CEMAR system.
  • Lead coordination of high-priority or complex projects, ensuring consistent application of NPDC’s project management framework.
  • Build strong relationships with sponsors, governance groups and stakeholders, supporting effective reporting, risk management, change control and iwi/hapū engagement.

  • Advanced proficiency with MS Office, SharePoint and PMIS. Experience with Flowingly is advantageous.
  • Strong planning, analytical, reporting and financial management skills, with proven stakeholder engagement and influencing capability.
  • Experience in the public sector or local government and working knowledge of relevant legislation (desirable).
