Procurement Manager


Horowhenua District Council’s Business Performance Team is seeking an experienced Procurement Manager to join our busy and high performing team. The Horowhenua District is currently experiencing extraordinary growth and we need an exceptional Procurement Manager to join our team and lead procurement across the business, you’ll advise on best practice approaches on all procurement and contract management. You’ll be a champion at building up capability and awareness across the Council, pulling together simple and effective frameworks and processes making procurement easy and straight forward (as straight forward as procurement can be!).

This role will also see you assist with the delivery of the Capital Projects programme, and deliver on Council’s business objectives through the effective management of a systematic approach to value across Council’s project portfolio and the provision of expert commercial advice. 

You’ll join us with great communication skills and a strong focus on internal customer service. You’ll be driven to make things happen and have a “business improvement” mind-set. Having strong relationships across the organisation will be key to your success, as well as your ability to coach and influence change.
