For this team in particular, there are various significant opportunities and challenges ahead, including delivering the National Planning Standards, developing and notifying water quality and quantity limits, providing guidance for tackling the impacts of climate change and responding to our new Government’s policy signals and direction. 

We are seeking an experienced planner, with strong management skills, to lead and direct the policy and planning team through the changes on the horizon.  You will be a confident communicator and public speaker, accustomed to a variety of consultation practices and committed to genuine community engagement. You should be able to point to a track record of building good relationships across all sectors of the community, working successfully in partnership with iwi and other stakeholders and operating collaboratively with colleagues at all levels.  Sound Resource Management Act knowledge is expected as is previous local government experience.
