We are currently looking for a Planner to join the team.
As part of the Regulatory and Compliance Group, the Planner is responsible for assisting the Resource Planner to administer and meet statutory requirement of the Resource Management Act and the Local Government Act, and also to manage the review of the Waimate District Plan.
We are looking for someone who is ready to develop into a master of consents and rural/urban planning, will be able to recite the District Plan in your sleep, and be confident enough to appeal for the Council in forums and meetings - if this sounds like you then keep reading!
About the role:
If resource management, district plans, compliance and policy are words that spin your wheels - then this could be the role for you! This is an incredible opportunity to be mentored by our in-house Planner during the next two years, who has over 40 years of experience to share with you.
Key tasks of the role include:
- Assisting with District Plan reviews/changes
- Land use and subdivision consents
- Resolving Resource Management enquiries/complaints
- Annual Environment reporting and surveys
- Working on Projects and Land information memorandums
The role will also involve communicating with multiple people throughout the council and public, including stakeholders, leadership team members, other councils and more.
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- A relevant Graduate Degree
- Excellent computer, administration and report writing skills
- Fantastic time management and communication skills
- To be a go-getter, ready to hit the ground running and learn from others
