Nelson City Council’s Executive Assistant team play a critical role in enabling the CEO, Executive Team, and the organisation to be successful. This support team is growing so we’re on the hunt for an experienced Executive Assistant, looking for a rewarding part-time opportunity, to join us.
Reporting to the Executive Assistant to the CEO, you’ll be responsible for providing high-quality administrative support and diary management, as well as proactive correspondence and communication to internal and external stakeholders.
This is a dynamic political environment, so you’ll thrive under pressure, managing both routine tasks and new priorities as they arise.
You will have strong relationship management skills and demonstrate a talent for communication with a diverse range of people. Naturally, you will have the highest levels of discretion and confidentiality, with the ability to adapt fluidly to competing and changing priorities. You will be highly organised and demonstrate a “can-do” approach to work, with an eagle-eye for detail.
This is a permanent part-time role, working 16 hours per week. Ideally 8 of those hours would be worked each Thursday, with flexibility on when the other 8 hours are worked. As this role provides cover for the CEO’s Executive Assistant, you will be required to work up to full-time to cover periods of annual leave. Plenty of notice will be given when full-time hours are required.
