OD and Transformation Manager
- High-profile, Regional Council
- Manage OD and Business Transformation functions
- Invercargill-based
In partnership with its community, Environment Southland (Regional Council) is responsible for the sustainable management of Southland's natural resources - land, water, air and coast. Council operates in a large geographical region from Stewart Island to Fiordland. Due to a recent realignment, the OD and Transformation Manager role is a brand-new position established to manage a new function.
Reporting to the General Manager People and Governance, The Manager will be responsible for developing and delivering strategic leadership, engagement, culture and transformation support interventions for Council. The Manager will develop initiatives and programmes relating to transformational change, organisational culture and the Council brand and will be responsible for a small team.
To be considered for this key position, you must have sound experience in organisational development ideally gained from working in complex or larger organisations. You will have experience developing and embedding cultural change processes along with project management capabilities. You will be an experienced people manager and you must have an interest or background working in the context of te Tiriti o Waitangi. Working at Environment Southland requires all staff to uphold the council's Te Tiriti o Waitangi responsibilities as part of their day-to-day role. This might be through the appropriate delivery of functions through various legislation where Te Tiriti o Waitangi or partnering with mana whenua is required or upholding the commitments that elected councillors have made to Ngāi Tahu ki Murihiku through the Charter of Understanding. A suitable qualification in psychology or OD or similar would also be desirable.
This is a great opportunity to take ownership of a newly formed function and to join a great team doing outstanding work for their community and the environment. A generous package will be on offer that includes above-average leave provision and relocation assistance, and there will be some flexibility around location.
