Manager Property & Capital Projects
Pōneke Wellington is on the cusp of transformational change, responding to many of the challenges cities around the world are facing, while delivering an inclusive, sustainable and creative capital for people to live, work and play.
In 2021, a Long-Term Plan was approved that will deliver the most ambitious capital works programme our city has ever seen. The Infrastructure and Delivery group is central to much of this mahi.
Our Manager Property and Capital Projects is a newly created position within the group, leading a high performing team of property, contract and project management specialists - creating a culture where people perform at their best, resources are adequately deployed, and our team consistently deliver on the commitments we've made.
You'll be building the team culture, lifting capabilities, and leading change - preparing the team for the future. The role encompasses strategic business planning, procurement, project management, commercial leasing, contract management - this really is a key role in our team and one that will make a tangible difference to our city.
You'll get to work for Siobhan Procter, our Chief Infrastructure Officer who leads from the front and empowers and inspires her team. Her management style is inclusive, supportive and is geared for success! Siobhan is leading transformational change to Infrastructure and delivery and has a clear vision of how this infrastructure team will deliver for the community and Council. Her wider team pride themselves on doing what they say they'll do.
We're looking for someone who has demonstrated leadership managing and delivering change. You'll have the capability to deliver on plans and get things done.
Experience in a political (or complex authorising) environment will help, alongside the ability to present to council or governance groups.
You'll also be courageous - there will be unpopular decisions to be made, but you'll have the ability to create a vision, sell it and see it through.
We're looking to start interviewing for this role in late January/early February.
For more information, please reach out to Wesley Hutton, Talent Acquisition Partner - firstname.lastname@example.org - or see the position description attached on our careers website. Please note, we'll be closed til 9 Jan, but will be able to come back to you then.
Applications close Wednesday, 25 January 2023 - we look forward to hearing from you.
