About the Role
As the Manager - Organisational Planning and Performance, you will play a pivotal role in developing and delivering our Long Term Plan (LTP) and managing the organisational performance function. This is a unique opportunity to lead with vision, ensuring that our plans align with strategic direction, stakeholder expectations, and community wellbeing.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead the development of the Long Term Plan, ensuring strategy-led and legally compliant outcomes in collaboration with the Mayor, Councillors, Rangitāne, and Senior Leadership Team.
  • Manage organisational performance, fostering cross-functional coordination across all Groups and Divisions.
  • Act as a trusted advisor, providing strategic and technical advocacy support to the Mayor, Chief Executive, and senior stakeholders.
  • Promote a culture of innovation and multidisciplinary collaboration in all aspects of planning and performance.
  • Oversee critical components such as Vision and Goals, City Strategy, Financial and Infrastructure Strategies, and Budget Prioritisation.

What You’ll Need

  • Proven experience in leading complex, multidisciplinary projects, ideally in a government or public-sector environment.
  • Strong project management skills with a track record of delivering strategic plans and performance frameworks.
  • Exceptional ability to collaborate, influence, and build relationships across diverse groups, including elected officials, iwi, staff, and external stakeholders.
  • Expertise in strategic planning, organisational performance, and public consultation.
  • A proactive approach to innovation and improvement, with a strong focus on community wellbeing and sustainability.
