Manager Land Development Consenting

This is a permanent full-time position of 40 hours per week.
Join an energetic, diverse and collaborative team where you’ll lead a group of Land Development Engineers working across 3 Waters and land development consenting. This role blends hands-on technical work with people leadership, stakeholder engagement and long-term planning.
The opportunity
- Lead and develop a high-performing engineering team - recruit, coach, mentor and support engineers, fostering a strong team culture
- Oversee technical assessments of 3 Waters networks for new and proposed developments, while continuing to contribute directly to technical work
- Manage RMA and Building Act consenting - guide processes, resolve escalations and ensure high-quality assessments
- Build strong relationships with councils, developers, consultants and internal teams to support smooth land development activities
- Work closely with council consenting departments to ensure clarity, consistency and timely decision-making
- Support business planning, financial planning and continuous improvement initiatives across the team
About you
To be successful in this role you will bring:
- a relevant tertiary qualification in engineering, planning, asset management or a related field
- proven leadership experience managing and developing technical teams
- significant senior-level experience in 3 Waters, land development, infrastructure or regional planning
- strong understanding of Resource Management Act and Building Act consenting processes, plus solid civil engineering practice knowledge
- excellent communication skills and the ability to build trusted relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.
