Land Development Technician

Our friendly Engineering Services Team are seeking a Land Development Technician.
The hours of work for this position are 8:00am - 5:00pm Monday - Friday.
Key responsibilities for this role include:
- Assist with reviewing engineering approval applications and resource consent applications for subdivisions and developments.
- Conduct site inspections for drainage and vehicle crossing applications to check if construction follows approved engineering plans and Council standards.
- Support the Senior Land Development Engineer in processing development signs offs - Section 224 and Asset Handover
- Assist with three-waters and vehiclecrossing applications for water, stormwater, wastewater and vehicle crossing connections.
- Maintain positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders such as developers, consultants and members of public to respond to general queries and offer technical advice regarding three-waters and subdivision consenting process.
- Support the Land Development team with the development of improved systems and processes to track and record application progress and cost.
- Follow health and safety procedures and participate in emergency response duties to ensure our safety-first culture.
What you will bring:
- Diploma in Engineering, Land Surveying, or Bachelor's in Civil Engineering or a qualification in a similar field
- At least 3 years of experience in construction, civil, land development or a similar field
- NZ Full Driver's License
- A general understanding of the Resource Management Act
- Knowledge and experience in Civil Engineering standards and codes of practice, construction practices and engineering design applications
- High level of accountability and autonomy
- Good problem solving skills
- A strong customer service focus
- Competent computer literacy in Excel, Word, and Outlook
