Level Up Your Planning Career: Intermediate Planner Wanted!
Are you an experienced planner ready to zone in on an exciting new role? We're seeking a dynamic Intermediate Consents Planner - Pūkenga Whakawhanake Whenua - to join our Community & District Development team at the Civic Centre.
As our Planner, you'll provide high-quality, customer-focused planning advice on a range of resource management consenting functions, including reviewing consent recommendations and providing technical support. You will support RMA-related processes, including hearings and Environment Court proceedings, and contribute to integrated planning solutions and customer-focused service improvement projects. You'll engage actively with the Planning Policy team to ensure integrated consenting and policy planning and deliver a customer-focused 'pre-consent lodgement' service.
The ideal candidate has a relevant tertiary qualification, 3+ years' experience working as a consent planner in an operational council or private sector environment (land use and subdivision), statutory hearing experience, and NZPI membership (or eligibility). A strong understanding of relevant legislation, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and commitment to cross-organizational accountability and integrated consenting outcomes are essential. Making Good Decisions Certification is desirable.
