Information Support Officer

Selwyn District Council's Information Management team is growing, and we're looking for a capable and organised Information Support Officer to join us. This is a hands-on role that supports the day-to-day management of Council's information, helping ensure records are accurate, accessible and well maintained.
Working closely with the Information Management team, you'll provide support across a range of activities, from managing shared inboxes and processing information requests to supporting our SharePoint platform and helping maintain efficient information management processes.
Key responsibilities include:
- Support the day-to-day operation of Council's information management systems, including SharePoint
- Manage and monitor Information Management inboxes, triaging and progressing requests in line with established procedures
- Apply agreed SharePoint standards and conventions to maintain consistency across Council sites
- Assist with maintaining and improving information management processes and systems
- Maintain accurate records and process documentation to support continuity across the team
- Work collaboratively with colleagues across Council to support information management and digital ways of working
You're someone who gets quiet satisfaction from making systems work well and helping people find what they need. You take pride in maintaining accurate information, can manage competing priorities, and are confident learning and using digital systems.
Whether your background is in administration, office support, information services or a similar role, you'll bring a practical approach, a willingness to learn and a commitment to providing excellent support to both colleagues and customers.
You will also have:
- Proven experience in administration, office support, digital platforms or information services roles
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage changing priorities
- Confidence using Microsoft 365 applications, particularly Outlook, Word, Teams and Excel
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- High levels of accuracy and attention to detail
- The ability to learn new systems and processes quickly
It would be great if you also have:
- Experience working in a local government, public sector or similar environment
- Exposure to SharePoint or another document management system
