Te Kunihera-ā-rohe o Ngāmotu - New Plymouth District Council is a local Government organisation located in the heart of New Plymouth. Te āheinga - The opportunity

As a result of NPDCs Organisation Transformation Review, a number of new teams and roles have been created, including the Project Management Office (PMO). NPDC has over $1B of capital projects to deliver over the next decade and the PMO plays a crucial role in delivering this significant investment efficiently and effectively for our community.

We are seeking a motivated and aspiring project manager to fill our vacant Graduate Project Manager role. As a key member of the project delivery team, you will contribute to the successful delivery of important infrastructure projects.

Tino takohanga - Key responsibilities:

• Undertake project management activities aligned to Councils Portfolios, Programme and Project Management (P3M) Framework
• Collaborate with stakeholders to define project scope, objectives, and deliverables
• Assist in project planning, scheduling, and resource allocation
• Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies
• Prepare project documentation, including reports, presentations, and status updates
• Coordinate project meetings, workshops, and communication with internal and external teams

Ngā tino pūkenga me ngā wheako - Essential skills and experience

You will ideally hold relevant tertiary or project management accreditation, with a minimum of five years' experience, plus:

• strong organisational skills and attention to detail
• a desire to learn and progress in the industry, being involved in projects that make a difference in our community
• excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
• proficiency in project management software and tools.

Desirable:

• Experience with project management methodologies (e.g., PRINCE2, Agile)

You can expect to start in this permanent full-time role with us between $72,355 and $75,501.
