Mō te tūranga | About the role

HDC is seeking a Group Manager Communications & Corporate Services, reporting to the Chief Executive. As a member of HDC’s Executive Leadership Team, this critical role will lead strategic planning and manage operational delivery across Information & Technology, Health, Safety & Wellbeing, Iwi/Māori Liaison, and Democracy & Customer Experience services.

 

Tō Kōrero| About You

Working closely with the CEO, your group leader colleagues, and your team, you will bring the following attributes to this role:

  • Strategic and operational acumen, ideally shaped in previous local authority settings or aligned sectors.
  • An ability to develop and execute strategies that drive measurable results.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills, supported by your vision, and pragmatism.
  • Senior leadership experience (10/15 yrs) with a record of delivery of ambitious goals.
  • Demonstrated success in developing effective team culture, ensuring professional outcomes, accountability, and continuous improvement for all stakeholders.
  • Comfortable in role modelling the culture and outcomes you seek of others.
  • An understanding and commitment to Te Ao Māori and the principals of partnership.
