As our GIS Officer, you'll work on projects that shape how our district grows and thrives. From developing smart spatial solutions to supporting decision-makers with accurate data, your work will make a real difference every day.
What You'll Do
In this role, you'll become the go-to person for all things GIS. You'll manage and enhance our spatial data platforms, ensuring the information we rely on is accurate and accessible. Your days will be varied, one moment you might be creating interactive maps or delivering high-quality spatial analysis to guide key planning decisions, and the next you'll be developing tools and scripts to improve how we use GIS across the council. You'll collaborate with teams across the organisation, offering training and troubleshooting support, while also working closely with external partners to integrate data and deliver smarter solutions for the community.

- A qualification in GIS or IT (or relevant proven experience).
- 1-2 years of experience using GIS systems (e.g., GeoNode, MapStore, GeoServer, SQL Server, QGIS, ArcGIS).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Confidence in supporting and training users with Geospatial and MS Office (O365) products.
- A current driver's licence (or willingness to obtain one).
