GIS Analyst

Full-Time - 40 hours per week

Do you want a change in lifestyle?

If so, here's your opportunity!

The South Taranaki District Council is seeking a well-organised and motivated individual to join the Strategic Assets Team. We are located in a tranquil area of New Zealand offering some of the best access to the great outdoors. We also boast attractive housing prices for your town, village or rural lifestyle and we are within commuting distance to larger centres.

Our communities deserve high-quality services from our infrastructure in a cost-effective way. These assets include water supply, wastewater, stormwater, roading, coastal structures and more. The Strategic Assets Team manages these assets in conjunction with the wider engineering team, and so this role is the "nerve centre" of the infrastructure team.

Do you have what it takes? You will get plenty of variety in this role, including:

  • Managing the databases and GIS for our core infrastructure.
  • Updating our records following maintenance and project activities.
  • Helping the wider team develop asset management plans and strategies.
  • Querying databases for irregularities as a part of continuous improvement.
  • Going to site, viewing our assets and updating our databases accordingly.
  • Testing and implementing technologies and field devices to help us do our jobs "smarter".

We are looking for a qualified and talented team player who has:

  • Good computer skills with accuracy and an eye for detail.
  • Knowledge of asset management systems and GIS technology.
  • Skill to handle multiple workstreams and remain cool under pressure.
  • Experience with AssetFinda, Power BI, or programming would be advantageous.

So too, would be a good sense of humour.

The salary range for this position is between $65,160pa and $72,400pa and the appointed starting level will be dependent on skills and experience and will be discussed during interviews with shortlisted candidates.

At STDC, we are an energetic, progressive organisation and offer a proven "best place to work" environment. Our team culture encourages innovation, we care about your professional development, and you will be working with an elite and motivated team of professionals.

If this role appeals to you, head over to our website where you can access the background information and job description for the role. If submitting an application, please ensure you provide a covering letter outlining your skills and experience for the role along with your most current CV.
