FINANCIAL ACCOUNTANT

Join us at Grey District Council, and lead your finance team to deliver excellent services to our Council.

During your week, you will spend your time focusing on ensuring financial systems and processes operate at full effectiveness and finance functions are delivered within statutory local government requirements, and best practice standards.

In conjunction with the Finance Manager you will assist with the annual budget process’s and lead the preparation of Councils Annual Report. You will enjoy the challenge and reward of managing insurance requirements for Council, management of tax obligations, rating functions, budgeting support and providing advice to activity managers for projects.

Ideally, you will have a recognised tertiary qualification in accounting or equivalent qualification with a minimum 3 years relevant work experience.  You will be proficient in Microsoft Office suite with exceptional organisation skills and the ability to problem solve, looking at trends and opportunities for improvement.
