The opportunity - Te āheinga

We're looking for an enthusiastic and highly organised Event Coordinator to join our Venues team at TSB Stadium on a permanent, full-time basis.
As Event Coordinator, you'll play a key role in the successful planning, coordination and delivery of a diverse range of events that enhance the reputation of New Plymouth District Council and showcase TSB Stadium as one of Taranaki's premier event destinations.
No two days are the same. One week you could be coordinating the logistics for a national basketball tournament, the next supporting a vibrant Diwali celebration, a regional netball competition, a major Tattoo Expo, a concert, exhibition or community event. From the initial enquiry through to event delivery, you'll work closely with event organisers, stakeholders, contractors and internal teams to ensure every event is executed professionally and leaves a lasting positive impression.
TSB Stadium is at the heart of Taranaki's events scene, attracting thousands of visitors each year and hosting an exciting mix of sporting, cultural, entertainment and community events. Key responsibilities - Ngā haepapa matua
- Event planning: Successfully deliver client event requirements by providing clear direction, setting expectations, and gathering all necessary information to achieve the best possible outcomes for clients, attendees, and the venue
- Stakeholder management (catering, cleaning, security etc)
- Collaborate with internal team members as required to understand different venue requirements and specific challenges
- Work directly with the venues Volunteer Officer, Eco Engagement Officer and technical specialists to ensure that all event requirements are captured and confirmed
- Roster all operational staff as required (Ops, FOH/Duty Manager, etc)
- Creation of 'Event Packs' for venues operations team to deliver the event - this includes and is not limited to detailed run-sheets, event plans, quotes, staffing requirements, etc
- To create and process all invoices and purchase orders as required
- Any other duties as determined or required by the business
Essential Skills and Experience - Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako
- Tertiary qualification and/or experience in event coordination, event delivery, event planning
- Experience in customer service and communication skills would be an advantage
- Ability to instruct a team of casual operational staff
- Experience in venue operations would be an advantage
- Some knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word
- Experience in health and safety in venues would be an advantage
- Full driver's licence

You can expect to start in this permanent, full-time role with a salary of between $75,517 - $78,801.
