Environmental Health Officer
If you're an experienced Environmental Health Officer who has a passion for working alongside their community then keep reading! An opportunity has arisen for an Environmental Health Officer to join our Regulatory Services Team at South Taranaki District Council.
We are looking at how we can better engage and assist the food and hospitality sector in the district to deepen and diversify, and we are reviewing all current practices as we move towards digital transactions and streamlined customer service.
It's not all about food though; you will need to be across a range of legislation (Health Act 1956, the Sale and Supply of Alcohol Act 2012 to name a few).
Working with the hospitality industry, our local businesses and helping our customers means you'll love connecting and enjoy sharing your expert knowledge in helpful ways. You will need to enjoy talking to people and helping them find solutions for risk-based problems.
You will like analysing and assessing an issue and making recommendations that are then put into action.
The person we are looking for will have:
- A National Diploma in Environmental Health Science or equivalent
- Knowledge and experience in compliance and enforcement matters
- Experience in environmental health and liquor licensing matters
- Sound working knowledge of the environmental health legislation
- An appreciation for the process and the ability to get involved in process improvement
If your passion for people and keeping communities safe gets you excited about this opportunity, then please don't miss out! You'd be an excellent fit for us, and we want to know about you. Qualifications are essential for some of the tasks the job requires.
We place a high value on the ability to communicate well, a commitment to excellent customer service, and a desire to help the residents and visitors to South Taranaki. We have a proven "Best Places to Work" environment with people that are proud to serve the local community.
This is your chance to join a high performance, a values-based organisation that invests in the development of its people and provides a great team environment.
