Environmental Health Officer
Do you care about the health and safety of the community? An opportunity has arisen for an Environmental Health Officer to join our environmental team at South Taranaki District Council.
It is an exciting time to start a new role at Council. We are looking at how we can better engage and assist the food sector in the district to deepen and diversify, and we are reviewing all current practices as we move towards digital transactions and streamlined customer service. You will need to like talking to people and helping them find solutions for risk-based problems. You will like analysing and assessing an issue and making recommendations that are then put into action.
The people we are looking for will have:
- A National Diploma in Environmental Health Science or equivalent
- Knowledge and experience in compliance and enforcement matters
- Experience in environmental health and liquor licensing matters
- Sound working knowledge of the environmental health legislation
Qualifications are essential for some of the tasks the job requires, but we will mentor and upskill the right person if lack of experience is an issue.
we place a high value on the ability to communicate well, a commitment to excellent customer service, and a desire to help the residents and visitors to South Taranaki. We have a proven "Best Places to Work" environment with people that are proud to serve the local community. This is your chance to join a high performance, values-based organisation that invests in the development of its people and provides a great team environment.
