About the role
Based on the Coromandel peninsula, with the main office in Thames, this role makes the end-to-end delivery of Council's projects happen. The Engineering Project Manager is a key member of the team making a positive impact on the district's future. The role includes design, consultation, procurement and managing the construction resources for each project assigned.
The role is responsible for leading and supporting the development, delivery and successful completion of capital works/infrastructure projects, with a focus on Three Waters projects.
Key responsibilities include:
- Project planning and delivery aligned to our project management framework
- Procurement of resources through both design and construction phases
- Financial management throughout the project life to approved budgets.
- Community and key stakeholder engagement
About you
As an Engineering Project Manager, you should have at least 5 years' experience in project management to help deliver the capital works we are undertaking. Ideally this should include successful delivery of Three Waters infrastructure renewals and new build projects.
It is desirable that you either have extensive prior experience delivering projects for a local council, an industry recognized project management qualification and have civil or structural engineering qualifications.
You'll need to demonstrate:
- Working knowledge of the Resource Management and Public Works Acts
- Previous experience in community consultation in NZ including iwi consultation
- Previous experience in the Project Management of community-based projects in NZ
- Working knowledge of the Local Government environment in NZ and of the Local Government Act
