Engineering Project Manager
We want more good people to come and do great things with us.
We love where we live. That's why we work so hard to look after our region and the people who live and work in the Waikato region.
Customers sit at the heart of everything we do, and all staff have an important role to play in the delivery of exceptional customer service.
Our work is as diverse as the region we care for; from the tip of the Coromandel Peninsula to the slopes of Ruapehu. We've got ambitious goals and there are some tricky issues, but that's what makes it so interesting.
Are you the competent and practical Engineer that the Waikato Region needs, in order to live and work in harmony with natural water sources? If so, then Waikato Regional Council wants you.
Our busy Engineering Delivery team needs an experienced and qualified Project Management Engineer to join us. We strive to protect our community and environment whilst making space for water. The team deals with complex and challenging projects so this role will require someone with qualifications in Civil or Environmental science or engineering and relevant real-world experience in river and flood protection infrastructure. A sense of humour is a must.
This influential role has plenty of variety, covering a range of river management and flood protection functions, including scoping works, and managing the delivery of investigations, designs, procurement, and construction. You will be a team player and enjoy coaching others.
We aren't looking for just any Engineer. We want someone who can influence, drive change, and develop relationships with a wide range of groups and individuals. You will need to be able to see things from different perspectives, demonstrate strategic thinking and flex your problem-solving muscles. A project management qualification and previous experience in local government is an added advantage. Good Health and Safety appreciation is a must.
If you think that you will be an awesome addition to our team, then send us your application.
Looking for flexible ways of working options, at Waikato Regional Council we are committed to working more creatively to 'get work done' in a way that is of mutual benefit to you, the organisation and our communities.
