Development Planning Manager

We are looking for our next superstar. This is a senior leadership role reporting to the GM Regulatory & Planning.  

The Development Planning Manager is responsible for the teams that perform our RMA consenting and compliance functions. The ideal candidate will be driven, have an intrinsic desire to help, and be an exceptional people person.

With significant legislative changes on the horizon, you will have a key role in shaping the delivery of customer-centred, environmentally friendly, future-focused consenting services across our district.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Proven senior leadership experience, with a track record of building and empowering high-performing teams
• A tertiary qualification in planning or a related field
• Strong understanding of local government legislation and RMA processes including latest legislative law reform
• Confidence in decision-making and a talent for coaching and developing others
• Excellent communication skills and relationship‑building skills
• A customer-first mindset and commitment to continuous improvement
