Development Engineer Team Leader (Civil)
Waipā is continuing to grow and evolve, and we're looking for an experienced civil engineer and people leader to help shape the future of our communities and infrastructure.
Leading our Development Engineering team, you'll ensure the engineering aspects of subdivision and land development deliver practical, high-quality outcomes for Council, developers, and the community. The role oversees development engineering considerations across transport, three waters, and parks and reserves, and contributes to strategic planning, policy, and bylaw development that supports Council's long-term direction.
This is a key leadership role working closely with developers, consultants, infrastructure providers and internal Council teams to support sustainable growth and development across the district.
About you
You'll be a people focused, capable and pragmatic engineering professional with strong technical knowledge, sound judgement, and the ability to build trusted relationships across a wide range of stakeholders. You may already be leading a team or ready to step into your next leadership opportunity.
Ideally, you will bring experience in development engineering, land development, or civil infrastructure, with strong knowledge of roading and/or three waters infrastructure, the Resource Management Act, and local government processes. Engineering New Zealand membership, CPEng, and local government experience will be highly regarded.
