Development Control Engineer
About the Role
Stratford District Council is seeking an experienced Development Control Engineer to play a crucial role in connecting Council's planning, building and infrastructure functions.
You will be responsible for ensuring Council's infrastructure and community interests are safeguarded during subdivisions, land development and PIM processes. The role is central to providing accurate engineering advice, enabling optimal decisions and quality outcomes.
This position is part time (28 hours per week) and will be located at the Stratford District Council, Miranda Street, Stratford, however flexible working arrangements may be available in time.
About You
You will have a solid understanding of the Building Act, the Building Code, Resource Management Act and the Local Government Act along with practical experience in using the Codes of Practice and District Plan Documents.
You have a relevant qualification in either NZCE, NZDE or equivalent. Candidates who are Chartered Professional Engineers (CPEng) with a minimum of 5 years' experience are desired, along with areas of expertise which include waste and stormwater drainage design, water reticulation, road and car park design, project management.
