The Democracy Services team is a newly established group within Tauranga City Council, this team helps support our Elected Members and the communities we serve. The team is responsible for the delivery of high quality support and advice to provide for effective, efficient and lawful democratic processes and decision-making, management of complaints, and requests for information under the Local Government Official Information and Meetings Act and other legislation.
We are building a high performing team who will use their governance expertise and technical knowledge to deliver high quality and timely advice and services to both our internal and external customers.
Ideal candidates will be excellent writers and communicators who understand the business of local government including the legislation surrounding the governance of Councils. You will be comfortable giving best practice strategic governance advice and ensuring well organised, seamless democratic functions are delivered. You will be able to quickly build relationships built on integrity and trust and be able to influence across a broad range of internal and external stakeholders.
