The opportunity - Te Āheinga
Are you passionate about providing a great service and helping make our district a better place to live and to work?
We have a one year, fixed-term vacancy in our Customer Support team to cover parental leave. The Customer Support team are the first people you see when visiting us. We help people with their enquiries covering all aspects of what we do, and you never know what the next conversation might be about. Rates, parking, dog registration, reuse and recycling, consents, licenses, property enquiries, general enquiries, and more.
Key responsibilities - Ngā Haepapa Matua:
- Provide first point of contact resolution for customers accessing NPDC services, and exceeding customer expectations
- Provide administrative and technical support to other teams
- Accurately capture and updating existing information on system databases
- Articulate legislation, bylaws and technical information to customers in a simple manner that is easily understood, ensuring customers understand requirements and rationale for these
- Actively ensure that legislative requirements and NPDC policies and procedures are fulfilled, particularly in relation to all key relevant legislation
Essential skills and experience - Ngā Pūkenga Me Ngā Wheako
To be successful in this role, you will need previous customer service experience combined with professional communication skills, both written and verbal. You will have excellent computer skills, competency in problem solving and an unstoppable positive 'can do' attitude. You'll need an eye for detail, be able to think on your feet, be great under pressure and a multitasker. We are looking for someone who is resilient, willing to learn and able to adapt to each day as it unfolds.

You can expect to start in this fixed-term, full-time role with a salary of between $63,185 - $65,932 pro-rata.
