Corridor Access Coordinator

We’re looking for a Corridor Access Coordinator to join our Transportation team and help keep Waipā’s road network safe, accessible, and moving.

With Waipā continuing to grow, this is an opportunity to play a key role in coordinating activities across our road corridors, balancing safety, compliance, network access and the needs of our communities.

About the role

You’ll support Council’s role as a Road Controlling Authority, managing corridor access and Temporary Traffic Management (TTM) activities across the district.

On any given day, you’ll be:

• Reviewing and approving Corridor Access Requests, work permits and TTM arrangements
• Coordinating works, events and activities to minimise network disruption
• Working with contractors, utilities, NZTA and neighbouring councils
• Using the National Forward Works Programme Viewer to coordinate road space
• Inspecting reinstatement works and monitoring compliance and warranties
• Providing practical advice on risk, corridor access and TTM requirements
• Supporting wider transport operations, roading works and community events

This role combines technical knowledge, practical problem-solving and strong stakeholder relationships.

About you

You’ll bring:

• Experience in TTM, corridor operations, roading or transport coordination 
• Prior training in the Code of Practice for TTM or an NZGTTM qualification
• Strong understanding of risk and practical traffic management solutions
• Knowledge of the Utilities Access Act
• Relevant technical qualification or studying towards an engineering diploma or equivalent practical experience 
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
• Competence with digital systems and Microsoft Office
• Full, clean New Zealand driver licence
